Statistical and Data Visualization
About
Dota2 is one of the biggest games in the world, they have an entire competitive scene (esports). This project was designed to create a narrative of Dot2's exact contribution in the Esports industry and to challenge myself with data visualization.
Challenges
I manually did all the research for the infographic and categorized all the different stats in a digestible and cohesive narrative. The excel sheet I scoured through had finance and data over two decades of industry growth.
From outside appearance, this project looks like just a poster, but this is by far the most challenging project I have tackled. Just sifting through the data and categorizing them into a narrative in 4 separate excel sheets from a mega stat sheet which had over 7000 rows took me 3 weeks of constant analysis and segregation.
Once I had all my data and the framework of my narrative ready, I moved to the second phase of this project: Data Visualization. It was a blast using Trajan as I always loved this typeface but could never find an opportunity to use. Lucky for me Dota2's official typeface was Trajan. I created all the graphs and statistical representation and finally compiled them all in a constricted but digestible fashion. All the stats and data is factual and accurate.
